Safeguarding Children Around Dogs
|
Safeguarding Children Around Dogs is a short, practical safeguarding awareness course designed for parents, carers, childminders and early-years professionals. The course focuses on prevention, adult responsibility and risk reduction, helping adults understand how everyday situations between children and dogs can escalate — and how to intervene early, calmly and appropriately. Rather than teaching dog training techniques, this course centres on human behaviour, supervision, positioning and environmental management, with a strong emphasis on recognising canine body language, managing space, and prioritising a child’s safety in real-world scenarios. Learners are guided through common domestic and childcare settings, with clear explanations of why incidents occur, what warning signs are often missed, and how adults can reduce risk through proactive decision-making and safe intervention strategies.

Here is a little treat for your dog...
Liver Cake Recipe...
Here is a recipe for Liver Cake, my dogs will do anything for it! Great for a training treat.
Ingredients
1lb Self-raising flour
1lb Liver
2 Eggs
2 Teaspoons of garlic powder
1 Cup of milk
Water to mix
Cooking Method
Put the liver, eggs and garlic through a blender until smooth. Gradually add the flour and milk, and top up with water until you have a sponge like consistency.
Put the mixture into a flat baking tray and place into a pre-heated oven at 200°C. Cook until no liquid remains when tested with a needle or fork (roughly 30-60 minutes, depending on the depth of the tray).
Cool it before cutting into cubes, bagging it up and freezing it in separate freezer bags (take away tubs also work well). You should have enough
tit-bits to last you for weeks!
